My research interests lie in applied mathematics, particularly in problems with applications to all aspects
of fluid mechanics. I am drawn to problems with interesting physics and challenging mathematics. My past
and current research have been focused on both fundamental problems in fluids and on problems that are
derived directly from applications. Throughout my schooling and post-doctoral work I have developed
an expertise in computational mathematics, mathematical modeling, asymptotic
techniques, optimization, and scientific computing. I have applied these methods to help understand questions in continuum mechanics and in particular fluid mechanics.
The broad goal of my work is to further understand fluid mechanical flows and phenomena through a combination
of mathematical modeling, direct numerical computations, and simple experiments.. See my research page
