Goal: Understanding of the way in which stresses and strains are induced by force systems, including how these stresses and strains are affected by configuration and boundary conditions of the structure, and its engineering applications

IMPORTANT : In learning engineering, we are always building on what was learnt in previous classes. Therefore, it is important that you review your Vector Statics, Physics, Math etc. In that spirit, you are responsible for all materials covered before a given test (including the prerequisite material). In other words, all tests in this class are comprehensive.

2. Communication: The class will have an e-mail address. You can communicate to the whole class (including the instructor) by posting to this address (to be given in class). You are responsible to all directives posted by the instructor to the class address. You advised to check your e-mail for such directives on a regular basis. 3. Cheating: Cheating and other acts of academic dishonesty is a NO,NO, NO in this class. If you are caught in cheating activities, such as copying or willingly allowing others to copy your work, severe punishments may befall you. Such punishment may include a failing grade in the course regardless of performance in other evaluation measurements. 4.Attendance and tardiness : According to University regulations, a student is permitted only one unexcused absence per credit hour of the course. A violation of this regulation may be punished by a grade of F for the course regardless of performance in other evaluation measures.
To avoid disruptions, you are requested to be in the classroom before the instructor. If for any reason you have to leave before the end of class, communicate that information to the instructor at the beginning of class.
