Course
Objectives
|
 |
The
objective of this course is to teach students how to maximize the potential
of their desktop workstations. This course will focus on website development
and the capabilities of Microsoft Office 2000 Professional. If you do
your job, attend class and do the assignment, you will have a thorough
knowledge of the commonly used applications in engineering at the undergraduate
level.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a mastery of Windows 2000
- Explain how web pages are designed, developed and published
- Create HTML and Java based web content
- Design and develop advanced engineering based PowerPoint presentations
- Work in groups to research, compile and produce engineering projects
- Use Excel to solve real world engineering problems
- Design and develop Access databases to maximize information management

This course is web based, so you are expected to browse
by the course site on a regular bases. You will be able to access the
course site by going to https://campus.fsu.edu.
The website is very important in this course because you will find the

Attendance
|
|
Students
are strongly urged to attend all classes. The majority of your course
projects will be based directly on class content. Attendance will be taken
daily. If you show-up for class late once or twice, I will overlook it,
but if you consistently come to class late, it will affect your grade.
- Students are required to attend all class
- Students are expected to conduct themselves like professional engineers
- Projects must be turned in on time (no exceptions)
- All assignments must be submitted in the Projects area of the course
site. Late projects will be marked down 10 points each day
- No web surfing when presentations are being presented
- Must adhere to "Honor Code" at all times
- No headsets or cell phones are allowed
- NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED IN CLASSROOM AT ANY TIME
