GAANN Fellowship Program

This
program is administrated through the Florida A&M University, School of Graduate

Mined Land Reclamation Educational Program
 |
This
program is sponsored by the National Association of State Land Reclamationist. One
grant in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded prior to the Fall term. Applications
must be received by June 15th of each year. Contact Dr. Abichou for an application form and for possible
topics of grant projects.

Paul&Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans
 |
The
Soros Fellowship for New Americans supports up to two years of graduate study in any
subject anywhere in the US. The fellowship provides $20,000/year and half tuition.

GEMs programs span
the entire recruitment, retention, and professional development spectrum. GEMs
principal activity is the provision of graduate fellowships at the MS and Ph.D. levels
coupled with paid summer internships. GEM also offers informational publications and
videos for graduate and undergraduate students. GEM is devoted to increasing access and
success in engineering and science graduate education and practice. |

| ARTHUR ANDERSEN FOUNDATION Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship Program
The Arthur Andersen Foundation makes available a number of fellowships each year to
enable future faculties to complete their dissertations without the need to teach or work
outside in order to finance themselves.

Program Overview
For the fourth consecutive year, the Environmental Careers Organization will be
recruiting on behalf of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) for the
Minority Academic Undergraduate and Graduate Students Fellowship Program (Fellows).
This highly competitive program provides TWO full years of financial support to
students from qualifying Minority Academic Institutions, including Tribally Controlled
Schools, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Historically Black Colleges and Universities,
Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, and Alaska Native Serving Institutions. The EPA will
support approximately twenty (20) undergraduate fellows and twenty-five (25) graduate
fellows for master's and doctoral level students beginning in the Fall 2002.
Undergraduate level students are also awarded a paid summer internship following their
first year of EPA-supported academic training at one of the US EPA's laboratories,
regional offices, or headquarter programs.
Stipend and Allowances
The fellowship provides up to $15,200 per year of support for undergraduate students and
$34,000 per year for graduate students. (Undergraduate and master's level students may
receive support for a maximum of two years and doctoral students for a maximum of three
years). This award provides financial support for tuition, stipend, and other educational
expenses.

| Skidmore, Owings & Merril (SOM) Foundation Traveling
Fellowship Program in Structural Engineering
$7,500 IS Awarded annually to a student who has recently
completed a graduate program in structural engineering to experience buildings, bridges
and other structures first hand.
