Congratulations to Ms. Michelle
Stewart and Mr. Eduardo Gomez!!!Graduate students Michelle
Stewart and Eduardo Gomez tied for Second Place Honors in
the Graduate Student Symposium at the 77th Annual Conference
of the National Technical Association (NTA) held in Houston,
TX on September 28 -October 1, 2005. Ms. Stewart is a Master’s
degree candidate in Industrial Engineering. She presented
her Master’s thesis research titled “Characterization
and Cost Analysis of Fouling to Maintain Energy Efficiency
of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells.” Mr. Eduardo
Gomez is also a Master’s degree candidate in Industrial
Engineering. He presented his Master’s thesis research
titled “Design, Manufacture and Performance of a Solar-Powered
Water Fountain.”Ms. Schinnel Small of Morgan State
University received First Place Honors for her research
titled “Application of Optical Tracking Devices for
Synthetic Vision.” |

Congratulations to Mr. Ronald
Cutwright!!!Ron Cutwright received First Place honors for
his presentation on an adaptive surrogate relaxation heuristic
for solving the general set covering problem at the National
Technical Association (NTA)'s 76th Annual Conference Graduate
Student Symposium, held at Tuskegee University on November
8 - 10, 2004. Mr. Cutwright's PhD research is being supervised
by Dr. Samuel Awoniyi of the Department of Industrial Engineering.

received the NTA Institutional Technical Award at the 2003
Annual Conference of the National Technical Association
(NTA) held in Orlando, FL on September 9 -13, 2003. Founded
in 1925 by Charles S. Duke, who was the first African-American
to receive an engineering degree from Harvard University,
the NTA is one of the nation’s oldest and most prominent
organizations dedicated to nurturing and building networks
for scientists, engineers, technologists and educators.
The FAMU-CCET team fully recognizes the importance of disseminating
its research by presenting at annual conferences and publishing
in peer-reviewed journals.
