Systems Physiology Workshop hosts Dr. Thagard as Guest Speaker

Dr. Norman Thagard addressed the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council Systems Physiology Workshop as guest dinner speaker on May 28th in Washington, DC. His topic, "Lessons from MIR" reviewed his experiences aboard the Russian Space Station, especially its effects on human physiology.

The meeting was organized by the NRC Committee on Space Biology and Medicine to review NASA-sponsored Life Sciences Research. Dr. Thagard, who holds a medical degree in addition to his electrical engineering degrees, was active in space biology and medicine research during his service as a NASA astronaut.
