BlackboardProfessor Tawfiq Receives Award's
Civil & Environmental Engineering
Civil Engineering Prof. Kamal Tawfiq was honored with the Outstanding Technical Achievement Award of the Florida Engineering Society at the annual banquet of the Big Bend Chapter in Tallahassee on February 25. The award, which is given every year to recognize contributions to the civil engineering profession through education and/or practice, recognized Dr. Tawfiq "for engineering advancements in soil mechanics and foundations structures" in 1999.
Dr. Tawfiq was also presented with one of the 1999-2000 Teacher/Advisor of the Year Awards at the Florida A&M University Commencement on April 29. The award, which includes a plaque and a $2000 bonus, recognizes continued excellence in teaching and advising.
