BlackboardDr. Thagard Appears on CNN Student News Show - Tallahassee May Participate in Turner Broadcast Journalism Program
Dr. Norman Thagard, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of College Relations, addressed K-12 teachers at the Texas Computer Educators Association on February 16th.
The presentation, including discussion with students, was made into a news show produced by students at an Austin Texas high school. The production is part of a Turner Learning program and was carried out under the supervision of Alan Duke, Managing Editor of the CNN Student Bureau. These shows are aired over CNN at 4:30 a.m. and may be taped and used by schools at their discretion.
High schools that have a journalism or communications curriculum are eligible for participation in the Turner Learning program. Dr. Thagard is working with Turner and Superintendent Montford of the Leon County School System to bring the program to one of the local high schools.
