Dr.Thagard Receives Lovelace Award

Dr. Norman Thagard, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Director of College Relations, received the W. Randolph Lovelace Award from the Society of NASA Flight Surgeons on May 14th.

The award was established in memory of Dr. Randy Lovelace, a pioneer in aviation and space medicine. It was awarded to Dr. Thagard in recognition of his contributions to the practice and advancement of aerospace medicine, and for extending human capabilities in extreme environments, referring to the 111 days he spent onboard the Russian MIR Spacestation.
