Ms. Lauren Walker-Coleman Honored with Professional of the Year Award

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering (COE) would like to congratulate Ms. Lauren Walker-Coleman, an alumnus of the COE, who is being honored for her outstanding performance and professionalism in the water environment industry with the WateReuse Association's Water Reuse Professional of the Year Award. Ms. Lauren Walker-Coleman will receive her award at the annual Awards Luncheon on Monday, September 10th in conjunction with the 2007 WateReuse Symposium in Tampa, Florida. Earlier this year, Lauren was also the recipient of the 2007 Florida Water Environment Association's Water Reuse Person of the Year Award.

Lauren received her Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University in 1996, and obtained her Master's Degree from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering's Environmental Engineering Program in 2002.

Lauren has served as the Water Reuse Specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in Tallahassee, Florida for the past nine years. In her role as Water Reuse Specialist, Lauren is a prime contributor to Florida's award-winning Water Reuse Program, whose accolades include WateReuse Institution of the Year and EPA's 2006 Water Efficiency Leader Award.

These awards recognize Ms. Walker-Coleman's dedication to excellence in the water reuse industry and her contribution to making Florida the national leader in water reuse.
