BlackboardFirst Annual FSU Engineering Alumni Homecoming
On Friday, November 5, 2010, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering held its first annual Engineering Alumni Homecoming, welcoming our FSU Alumni back to the College, in conjunction with The Florida State University's homecoming weekend festivities.
The FSU Alumni Association was the sole sponsor of this inaugural event providing financial support for the evening reception and complimentary event tee shirts. The event was held at the College on the first floor connector from 3:30 PM until 5:30PM, with each of the 5 academic Departments available to meet and greet their graduates and register them for a department tour of the engineering campus and research labs.
Susan Sarna, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management of Century Link, is a Board Member of the FSU Alumni Association and Member of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Advisory Board. Ms. Sarna was pleased to kick-off the event with a few words, conveying her hopes for the success of the event and how important Alumni contribution is to the continued success of the College.
Dr. Braketta Ritzenthaler, Assistant Dean and organizer of the event remarked, "It was a great start for future events to occur" Dr. Ritzenthaler added, "We hope to have more alumni join us at the College for next year's homecoming events."
