BlackboardProf. Awoniyi Appointed Associate Dean
Dean Chen has announced the appointment of Dr. Samuel A. Awoniyi as Associate Dean of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and Professor of Industrial Engineering, effective Fall of 1997.
Dr. Awoniyi's main responsibility as Associate Dean will be in Academic Affairs for the College of Engineering. This includes the supervision of Student Services, Placement, Pre-College Programs, the Library and the Minority and Retention Program.
Dr. Awoniyi has a B.S. degree in Applied Science from the University of Ibadan, a M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Operational Research and Industrial Engineering respectively from Cornell University in 1978 and 1980. From 1980 to 1985 he was a lecturer at the University of Ibadan. He joined the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering in January 1986, and was appointed as Chair of Industrial Engineering in August 1986 until August 1989. He also served as Interim Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering from 1992 to 1993 and Interim Associate Dean for the past year.
