Below is a graphic of the Mechanical Engineering Curriculum, but first
some important notes:
-
Prerequisites for each class are indicated by plain arrows. Before you can
take the class at an arrowhead, you must first take
the earlier class at the start of the arrow. If you get a D in the
earlier class, you can usually take the next class, as long as you
retake the earlier class the very first time it is being offered again.
-
Corequisites are indicated by broken arrows. If you want to take the class
at the arrowhead, you must take the class at the start of the arrow
either earlier or during the same semester. Corequisites
indicated by arrows with two heads must be taken simultaneously.
-
Recommended pre- or corequisites are indicated by dotted arrows.
-
Because of the prerequisites, you need to follow the schedule closely.
This is especially true in the junior and senior years. In those years,
fall classes are only offered in fall, and spring classes only in spring.
However, sophomore fall classes are usually also offered in spring, and
sophomore spring classes also in summer. This gives students that are out
of step a chance to catch up during the sophomore year.
