Patrick Hollis, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University in 1986 and joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering later that year. He currently teaches courses in design, FEM and CAD, and various graduate and undergraduate courses in dynamics. His research interests lie in CAD design tools and rapid prototyping, and dynamic system modeling and control. Dr. Hollis has been the recipient of two teaching awards from FSU. He is also the author of a textbook on the design of machine elements to be published by McGraw-Hill.
