Carl A
Moore, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, earned
his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University and his M.S.
and Ph.D. from Northwestern University in the summer of 2001. He worked
for 2 years as a research engineer and as a manufacturing engineer for
Eastman Kodak Company in the Copy Products and Single-Use Camera departments.
He also has professional research experience with Ford Motor Company's
Interactive Conceptual Design and Applications lab. He teaches courses
in robotics. His research interests include a new class of robot-like
devices called cobots. A cobot is a robot designed for direct physical
collaboration with a human operator. His other research interests include
haptic design and control, robot assisted manufacturing and industrial
design, and mobile robots.
