General Notes

The academic level and the subject matter of the examination correspond approximately to the Master of Science degree program within the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

A detailed list of topics follows in the next subsections. Of course, such a list can never be precise to every detail. In general, even if a topic is not in the list, a question is still appropriate if its factual material is both:

1.
covered in typical undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering,
2.
ordinarily covered in the BS program in Mechanical Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.
Note that both conditions need to be satisfied for the question to be appropriate.

In addition, questions are also appropriate if they involve factual material that is covered or typically covered in the following classes for the MS Program in Mechanical Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering:

1.
EML 5060, Analysis in Mechanical Engineering in the mathematics section),
2.
EGM 5611, Introduction to Continuum Mechanics (in the solid mechanics section),
3.
EML 5709, Fluid Mechanics Principles with Selected Applications (in the fluids and heat transfer section).
