US FSU Application

Students should first check the departmental admission requirements, which are more stringent than those stated by the university, by clicking here. You may use your browser's Back button to return here. You need to send the required letters of recommendation, personal statement, and resume directly to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Mail these letters to the Graduate Coordinator address listed on the Contact Information Web page.

However, all other required materials, including application forms, fees, and transcripts, as listed in the links below, should be directly send to the university.

GRE and TOEFL scores must be send directly from the testing agency to the university, using the institutional code for the Florida State University, which is 5219. Results are not considered official if this is not done.

Once your admission is complete, it will be submitted to the Graduate Committee for review. You can expect a final decision within five to six weeks. Due to the large volume of applications, it is not possible to report on the progress of applications once they have been submitted to the Committee for review. Once a decision has been made, you will be notified via e-mal and/or regular mail. Please be sure to include a valid e-mai address so that we may contact you.

Notification of admission to the graduate program may precede notification of financial assistance.
