To Proctor Forms
Introduction

In order for online students to take exams remotely, a proctoring arrangement satisfactory to the College of Engineering must be found. Note that online students must normally take tests at the same time as the local students. Any exceptions must be cleared with the instructor beforehand.

In order to take exams remotely, the student needs to identify an proctor willing to conduct the exams according to the profesors' instructions and certify the integrity of the exams. The student discusses the choice of proctor with the Web Education Director. If acceptable, the chosen proctor needs to fill out the proctor signup form and mail it to to College of Engineering.

The task of the proctor is to ensure that the exams are conducted according to the instructions provided by the professor and mail the form to the professor. For each exam, the students should bring the proctor the certification form to be filled out and signed, as well as a stamped addressed mailing envelope.

Some examples of possible proctors (some might charge a fee):

  • An employee at a local community college, with official permission of the Junior College;
  • A librarian at a public library, with official permission of the library director;
  • The students' supervisor in a large company or the military, with official company permission;
  • A staff member in the training or personnel offices of such a company, with company permission.

Regardless of the above, a proctor not may be:

  • a relative;
  • a close personal friend;
  • a person under a financial obligation to the student;
  • any other person for which the objectivity as a proctor could reasonably be doubted.
