This proposal is targeted toward developing distance education solutions using the Internet that will allow universities to reach out to community colleges. The project has the potential to produce significant benefits in the areas of student access, retention, and completion for both students in general and for under-represented groups in particular. It also has an immediate impact on student costs, by decreasing the average time spent at the university. The emphasis is on simple, low cost solutions that can be adopted without specialized knowledge of distance education or computer hardware and software.
