Basic Tools

To take true advantage of the Web program, you will need the following minimum hardware:

1. A Pentium computer system.
2. A modem and an ISP provider or another way to get your computer on the Internet.

You will need the following minimum software:

1. A recent version (4.5 or better) of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer. At the time of this writing, Netscape 6 has difficulties. See the setup instructions.
2. E-mail software that you can use to send messages and files with. Netscape has such software built in. Every Mechanical Engineering student must check their E-mail at the minimum every morning and every evening.
3. Real Player G2, 7, 8, or better. The free version is included in some of the earlier versions of Netscape.
