About the College of Engineering - Prospective Graduate

History

Founded in 1982, the College of Engineering was established as a joint program serving two universities in Tallahassee, Florida: Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) and The Florida State University (FSU). The mission of the College is to provide an innovative academic program of excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and to attract and graduate a greater number of minorities and women in professional engineering.

The graduate programs at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering are designed to prepare students for successful careers in industry, research and teaching. There are approximately 300 students currently enrolled in the twelve degree programs. The rigorous curriculum requires students to maintain focus, work independently, and master time management skills. Professors work closely with the students on research projects and they guide them through the thesis or dissertation process.
