FAMU Students Win the 2009 Ford HBCU Business Classic Competition

TALLAHASSEE, FL - Florida A&M University (FAMU) students Emerson Naylor, School of Business and Industry (SBI), and Evan Anderson, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, won the 2009 Ford HBCU Business Classic Competition. As the grand prize winner, the student team won $35,000 in personal scholarships and $15,000 for FAMU.

FSU Electrical Powered Car Takes Laps At Daytona International Speedway

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Students from the High Performance Material Institute of Florida State University and school president T.K. Wetherell took laps around historic Daytona International Speedway on Monday in an all-black, electrical-powered composite car.

Strong Winds Hit Engineering School

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering was host to a squall line of severe thunderstorms that ripped through the campus early evening. Paul Duval, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service on FSU campus said they currently think the college experienced straight-line winds gusts of up to possibly 75mph. ASME visits Northrop Grumman Ship Building

Florida State Announces $6.5 Million in Energy Research Grants

The Institute for Energy Systems, Economics and Sustainability, a research and policy group established earlier this year at The Florida State University to address sustainability and alternative power issues, today announced $6.5 million in grant awards for research in the areas of fuel cycles, governance and energy delivery systems.
