Students' Bio

Aaron Carr: "Aaron is currently a senior at North Carolina A&T State University, seeking a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He plans to pursue more of an advanced degree in an area around environmental engineering. His interest have been in water sustainability, efficient means of utilizing energy, and other environmental applications. He hopes to pursue a endeavor in environmental sustainability."
Jamie Gomez: "Jamie is a Ph.D Candidate in Chemical Engineering at Florida A&M University. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in 2008 and continued her pursue of a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering immediately afterwards. Her interests are in alternative and renewable energy sources, and she specializes in electrocatalyst development processes and their applications in energy storage devices."
Ruben Nelson Bio: "Ruben has been a student at Florida A&M University since the Fall of 2003. He received both his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering in 2007. He continued his pursuit of an advanced degree immediately afterwards in hopes of earning a Ph.D. His interests have mainly been in VLSI and its relevant subjects, software design, chip fabrication, and low power applications. He hopes to eventually go into industry or pursue an entrepreneurial endeavor in this field or similar."
Valesha Scott: "Valesha is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia, South Carolina. A career Rattler, she has earned both her Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (2007) and a Master's of Education in Secondary Mathematics (2009) from Florida A&M University. She is now conducting research on methods to increase overall solar energy conversion efficiency in dye-sensitized solar cells, under the advisement of Dr. Egwu E. Kalu, Chemical Engineering, and Dr. Peter N. Kalu, Mechanical Engineering. With their powers combined, Valesha plans to help make dye-sensitized solar cells a viable solution to the ever pressing demand for renewable energy sources."
Annadanesh Shellikeri: "Annadanesh is a PhD student at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, Tallahassee. He completed his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida A&M University, in 2010. His research interests are mainly in energy storage devices. Currently he isinvolved in Lithium-air and Lithium-air-flow battery design and development. His research interests also include supercapacitors, CNT based bio-sensors, battery performance characterization and battery cycle life testing for electric vehicle applications."
Jamal Stephens: "Jamal Stephens is an undergraduate Electrical Engineering student at Florida A & M University. His interests are mainly with power electronics which deals with solid-state electronics for control and conversion of electric power. He plans to pursue a Ph.D in Power Systems."
Thomas Williams: "Thomas is a Junior at Norfolk State University. His research interests include microprocessors and power generation systems. After graduation, Thomas plans to work for Pepco. Eventually, he plans to pursue an advanced degree in engineering."
