Welcome New Students!
-
Welcome to the College of Engineering! We are eagerly awaiting your arrival to campus and wanted to share a few useful tips as you prepare for the fall semester.
First Year Engineering Lab Wait List
Students who were not able to register for ENG-1004L during the summer registration period can add their name to the First-Year Engineering Lab Wait List. Students must follow the instructions given on the First-Year Engineering Lab Wait List webpage. Space will be provided on a first-come first-serve basis.
Registering for the waiting list does NOT guarantee you a space in the class. Students are also required to show up for the section(s) in which you want to be enrolled on the first day of classes. Failure to attend the first class meeting will result in your name being removed from the waiting list.
Students are given up to 3 semesters to complete the First Year Lab requirement. If you are not able to register for the course this fall you can take it in the spring or summer terms.

Transportation To and From the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering
The College of Engineering is located in Innovation Park about 2 miles from FAMU. If you have your own transportation, driving directions to the college can be found here. Otherwise FAMU offers a free shuttle bus service from their main campuses to the college.
StarMetro provides service to the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering. During fall and spring semesters, the Dogwood Route will operate Monday through Friday from 6:03 a.m. to 7:40 p.m. We suggest taking the southbound Dogwood Route at the Gamble Street and Wanish Way stop. Students in 8:45 a.m. class(es) should catch the 7:52 a.m. southbound Dogwood Route bus and get off at the Innovation Park stop.
The College of Engineering's departments, offices, and classrooms are located within two main buildings and are designated as building 'A' and building 'B'. Parking is available in front of each building with bus stops for both the Seminole Express and the Venom Express III at the entrance of building 'A'. Building 'A' is oriented to the south while building 'B' is oriented to the north and is the darker of the two buildings.
Services within building 'A' include: all five academic departments, the library, student organization offices, computer lab, research labs, CMS, and the FEEDS center. Services within building 'B' include: Student Services, the Dean's Office, Office of the Associate Dean, Career Services, and research labs. Classrooms are located in both buildings and locations are designated on the student course schedule. However, FAMU and FSU each list building 'A' and 'B' differently on their course scheduling system. The building codes on "FAMU/FSU's" course scheduling system are:
Building Code Building COEA A COEB B For example, FAMU students who have a class in COEA 125 would report to Building 'A' room 125.
