Transfer Calls

––Lets you move a call to another extension or to an outside number.

  • To transfer a call,
    • During a call, press the Transfer key
    • This may also be labeled as ‘XFER ‘
    • Dial the extension, or dial 9 and the outside number.
    • If you want, announce the caller when the party answers, then hang up.
    • If you do not want to announce the caller, then you may hang up as soon as the phone starts ringing. The party you are transferring will not be disconnected.
    • If there is no answer, the party being transferred will be forwarded to the final destination’s voice mail, if voice mail exists for that person.
    • If you wish to make sure that the original calling party is helped, a good idea would be to stay on the line until the desired party answers, announce the callers name, and hang up.
  • To reconnect,
    • Press the Connect key.
      • This rejoins you to the original call.
      • You may only reconnect to the calling party if you do not hang up.
