To the employers of students who graduated from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering:

We would appreciate your help in assessing how well the Civil Engineering program prepares its students to meet its educational objectives and
outcomes. By answering the following survey questions, you will provide valuable feedback that is needed for program improvement and
program accreditation.

Please note that responses to all parts of Questions 1 and 2 are required for the submittal of this survey. Thank you in advance for your
participation. We look forward to hearing from you.

1. The following are the current Program Educational Objectives for the Civil Engineering program at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. We expect graduates to achieve these objectives several years after graduation.

(a) Progress in successful professional careers in civil, environmental or related fields, or will continue their studies at a graduate level.
(b) Be engaged in design, management, and professional activities needed by society, and which are based on sound academic knowledge, gained skills in management, oral and written communication, and leadership, and engineering practices.
(c) Become recognized professional engineers with demonstrated commitment to life-long learning and continuous self-improvement in order to respond to the rapid pace of change in the profession of civil and environmental engineering.
(d) Contribute to the work force diversity as members and leaders of inter/multi-disciplinary teams.

2. The following are the current Program Outcomes for the Civil Engineering program at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. By the time of graduating from the Civil Engineering program, students should attain the following Outcomes.

(a) Apply knowledge of mathematics through differential equations, science (including calculus-based physics, general chemistry, and one additional area of science), and engineering
(b) Design and conduct field and laboratory experiments, as well as to critically analyze and interpret data in more than one of the recognized major civil engineering areas.
(c) Design systems, components, or processes in more than one civil engineering context to meet desired needs within realistic constraints.
(d) Function on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.
(e) Identify, formulate, and solve civil engineering problems.
(f) with "Understand professional and ethical responsibility, and explain basic concepts in management, business, public policy, and leadership as well as the importance of professional licensure
(g) Communicate well orally and in writing with engineers as well as with those outside of the engineering field.
(h) Understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.
(i) Recognize the need for and an ability to engage in lifelong learning.
(j) Have knowledge of contemporary issues.
(k) apply the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
(l) Apply knowledge of the technical areas in civil engineering (structural, geotechnical, transportation/construction, and environmental/water resources) relevant to your organization.
