30th Anniversary Celebration

30th Anniversary T-Shirt Contest

At first, many people thought the joint venture of an engineering program between Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Florida State University (FSU) would fail. They were wrong. First established in 1982, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering has seen much success and growth during the past 30 years. Our success is visible throughout our campus ranging from our enrollment growth of 35 students in 1982 to over 2,500 students today, a diverse student population with 50% of our enrollment from groups typically underrepresented in Engineering, diverse faculty representing 22 different countries, and state-of-the-art research facilities. Throughout the 2012-2013 academic year the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering will host special events to help celebrate our 30th Anniversary, our past successes, and our vision for the future. The first of these events will be on October 18th where the College will host a breakfast and announce the winner of our 30th year t-shirt contest.

Student organizations were invited to submit t-shirt designs celebrating the College's 30th anniversary. The organization with the winning t-shirt design will have the exclusive rights to sell the t-shirts as a fundraiser opportunity and be awarded $500 to be applied towards the overall cost of ordering the shirts.

Organizations had to incorporate the following:

  • The College's 30th anniversary and at least one of the following slogans: "Two Universities, One College, Twice the Opportunities" or "Quality, Growth, and Diversity" and incorporate student activities
  • The shirt's main color: Blue, Black, Grey, Tan, or White.

A panel of three (3) judges representing the College of Engineering, FAMU, and FSU will rate the shirts based on the following:

  • Overall design,
  • use of mottos;
  • and the incorporation of the theme.

Designs will be displayed in the Atrium throughout the Breakfast Break Kick-off on the 18th.
