The 7th IEEE International Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Robotics and Automation (CIRA2007) provides an opportunity for prominent researchers, engineers and practitioners to present the latest research results, innovations, and potential future directions in computational intelligence in robotics and automation. Special emphasis will be placed on complex systems and complex behavior including innovative usage of computational intelligence in robotics, manufacturing systems, medical instruments and systems, health care, and automation. The Symposium covers the following topics, but is not limited to these:

  • Robot manipulators
  • Microhandling and -manipulation
  • Modular robotics
  • Evolutionary robotics
  • Manipulator control
  • Computer vision
  • Sensor fusion
  • Biologically inspired robotics
  • Neural networks
  • Evolutionary computing
  • Fuzzy logic
  • Soft computing
  • Genetic algorithms
  • Intelligent systems
  • Adaptive and learning control
  • Agent technology
  • Complex behaviors
  • Ambient intelligence
  • Co-operative robotics
  • Mobile robotics
  • Health-care robotics

Electronic Paper Submission

Papers are invited on all aspects of computational intelligence in robotics and automation. Six pages are allowed for each paper. Up to four additional pages will be permitted with extra charge. Full-length papers in standard IEEE format must be submitted electronically in PDF (Portable Document Format) file format as per the electronic submission instructions published on the CIRA 2007 web site.

Special Session, Tutorial and Workshop Proposals

Proposals for special sessions consisting of four papers and for half and full day tutorials and workshops are welcome. Proposals should include a statement of purposes and a summary with a list of speakers and their topics with abstracts. Further information will be posted on the conference web site.

Location

The conference will be held at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront in the downtown riverfront area of Jacksonville, Florida, near the beautiful river walks on banks of the St. Johns River. Centrally located in the city, the downtown riverfront hotel area is nearby to Jacksonville’s historic district – San Marco.

In addition to the many cultural attractions, World Class golf is just 5 miles from the hotels and the Jacksonville Beaches are just 15 minutes away by car.
