| Newsflash!!! On Saturday, June 26, 1999, Jake earned his Canine
Good Citizen (CGC) certificate and also passed his evaluations to be
a therapy dog through Therapy Dog International
(TDI). We always knew that Jake is a good boy and that he has a wonderful
disposition! Now we look forward to visiting our local nursing homes and
hospitals, where Jake gets to do what he likes best--meeting people and
putting smiles on their faces.
Jake is our second canine family member. We adopted him from the Fluvanna SPCA in June 1997. Actually, we were just fostering him, but we fell in love with him right away and just had to make him a part of our odd-ball mix. This great guy is a Smooth Collie and Ibizan hound mix. He's 3.5 years old and is a real sweetie (and is smart too!). Jake graduated from Level I obedience classes with Daddy in October 1997, and we're so proud of them! We've been having fun playing with him too. And now with the addition of Scooter to our family, Jake has even more fun! Our princess pup, Chessie, sometimes thinks that Jake and Scooter are her play toys. She's even taught them some of her wild antics. And we had hoped that they would be good influences on each one another! |
