  • Teaching and research at the College of Engineering is carried out in 200,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art facilities at the Innovation Park Campus. Over $125 million of research is being conducted under single and multiyear contracts.

  • Engineering Students and Faculty have access to multi-disciplinary research centers, institutes and labs: APS, CAPS, CISCOR, ESC, FCAAP, FREEDM, HPMI, IESES, NHMFL.

  • The College of Engineering has been selected as one of three engineering programs in the US to receive the 2009 Claire L. Felbinger Award for Diversity, awarded annually since 2005, by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.

  • The College of Engineering celebrated its 25th Anniversary as a College in 2007. Since opening its doors in 1982 with a first class of 35 students, present enrollment exceeds 2300 students, of which 2024 are undergraduates and 295 are graduate students.

  • The College of Engineering Faculty comprises 90 accomplished scholars from 22 countries. The Student body comprises almost 20 percent female students, compared to the national average of less than 15 percent.

  • The College of Engineering ranks third in the nation for the number of B.S. degrees granted to African Americans, and in the top 15 for Ph.D. degrees.

  • The College of Engineering degree programs span seven engineering disciplines: chemical, biomedical, electrical, computer, industrial, civil and environmental, and mechanical. All undergraduate degree programs are fully accredited by ABET.
